Do Acupressure Insoles Help You To Lose Weight? This Is What I Learned

I was never into those odd-looking insoles, though they were all the rage in the 90s. Recently, however, one pair of acupressure insoles caught my attention. I remember a friend of mine used them for weight loss, and in just a month or so, she did slim down a lot. But, I couldn’t help, but wonder, does acupressure insoles help you lose weight for real?

That’s precisely why I got myself a pair. I’m a sucker for an easy weight loss gimmick. Besides, it wouldn’t hurt to try. The thing is, I always had a bit of excess weight. Since I exercised less due to my feet pain, it became super challenging to get my body back on track.

With my insanely busy schedule, kids, and stuff to do at home, I just never found the time to do a proper fitness routine. So, I couldn’t wait and see what will happen if I slip these insoles into my shoes.

The remarkable thing is, they worked! In just a little while, I noticed I was 1.5 stone lighter. This is definitely more than I thought I would get. Plus, I didn’t do anything extreme. Here is how it happened.

One year ago, I ordered a pair of acupressure insoles. When I took the insoles out of the package, I tried to fit them in the shoes. I had to trim them a little since they didn’t fit, but it went quite well. Then, I decided to put these insoles on.

At first, I was put off by the bulgy middle. I know they are made to pressure the arches in the feet, but I just couldn’t relax when I wore them. I thought this could never work, and I can’t get used to this pinch feelings. But, boy, was I wrong!

The third time around, I got to wear them, it felt as if I got a proper foot massage. With every step I took, it felt better and better. The positioning, structure, and material felt very soothing on the feet. Eventually, I got hyped about walking.

So, I walked a LOT! From the office to the train station, then home. I used to take so many shortcuts because I couldn’t handle the feet pain. But now it’s different. Walking is a breeze, and it’s all thanks to these insoles.

The good thing is, I’m not the only one who likes these things. I talked to a few friends of mine, and they, too, approve the insoles slimming capabilities. I asked my doctor about it, and he said the odds of me experiencing side effects from wearing them are pretty low. So, I had something to look forward to whenever I wanted to go for a walk.

Others, on the other hand, believe the insoles are only good for physical support, soothing pain, and stimulating blood flow in the feet.

But, let me tell you, wearing these insoles for at least 15min a day can make a difference. You just put them in the shoes with the pinchy surface facing upwards, and you are good to go.

I noticed I slimmed down quite a bit. I was so surprised about losing a stone; I went back to my doctor to see what he thought. He said that these effects I’ve been having could simply be a placebo effect. The moment I began to use them, I most likely started with a positive mindset and profoundly believed in their efficiency and potential to reduce the fat.

So, I might have improved my opportunity for success by merely believing in these insoles, like a motivational or psychological factor. Of course, I can’t say for sure, but I do know I lost plenty of weight. They worked like a charm, and I’ll keep using them for sure.

Do acupressure insoles help you to lose weight?

I get asked that a lot. As you probably know, these acupressure insoles rely on a process called reflexology that correlates with all the unique areas on your feet. The way they work is from the inside out.

With the help of acupressure, the insoles can send out magnetic waves of pressure and reach the digestive system. The longer you wear them, the easier it will be for the system to balance out the metabolism and control the number of fat cells.

For those unfamiliar with the reflexology technique, our foot soles are connected to each organ in our bodies. The insoles are designed to stimulate every area that corresponds to the kidneys, stomach, liver, and intestines. As a result, it can boost digestion and might help you control your weight better.

In other words, you are getting a pressure point therapy that starts with the feet. Regardless of how long you’ll be using them, you won’t experience any side effects. The only thing is, there is no scientific proof about their slimming properties.

Do Acupressure Insoles Work for Other Purposes?

There is more to these insoles than it meets the eye. In fact, they might have pain soothing and therapeutic properties. Some reflexologists believe that it could be possible to boost energy flow to specific organs by stimulating all the pressure points in our foot soles.

Even though there isn’t any scientific research to back it up, it does make sense. Experts have found these pressure points to be an actual physical pathway that connects with the rest of the organs. The insoles are meant to stimulate constructive postural changes, which can tighten the muscles and send a signal to the kidneys.

With a better flow of energy, all the sluggish feelings in the body can disappear, which, in turn, can help restore bladder control. This can come in handy for people with kidney issues. Aside from the kidneys, these insoles can send a signal to the waist, releasing all the pressure that affects alertness and breathing.

But that’s not all. Apart from a better energy flow, acupressure insoles can be viable support for your feet. If you are suffering from sluggish feet and painful joints, as I do, you may find these insoles quite handy.

What Kind of Acupressure Insole Should I Use?

There are all sorts of insoles on the market that feature acupressure pressing points. I bought a few but then decided to go for the Mindinsole Gel Acupressure Magnetic Insoles since they look easy to clean. Plus, they have magnets strategically positioned all around the soles, which definitely felt very soothing on the skin.

If you want to ease the mild pain and foot discomfort, you might like these ones. Every magnet is meant to emit magnetic waves to reach each single fat cell in the body.

That’s where it gets its slimming properties. But, most importantly, the material keeps the feet cool and has plenty of ventilation, so you don’t have to worry about the smelly feet. I think it’s a good deal. If you still have your doubts, here are some pros and cons to sum it up.

Pros

  • Breathable design
  • Easy to clean
  • Perfect for a magnetic massage
  • Emits magnetic waves for weight loss
  • Stimulates blood flow
  • Relaxes the feet

Cons

  • Takes a while to get used to

Overall, I can’t say for sure these insoles are the reason I lost a stone and a half. But, I do know that ever since I’ve been using them, I haven’t felt any discomfort or pain in my feet. I love the flexible plastic and its stimulating properties. So, it might work for you.
