What Is It Like To Use Acupuncture For Bronchitis

Many people ask me if they can use acupuncture for bronchitis. Anyone who has acute bronchitis knows how difficult it can be. The constant chest inflammation, airway irritation, and obstruction can be a real problem. Severe fatigue and coughing will only make things worse.

I’ve been dealing with bronchitis for a long time now. I’m prone to developing the illness a lot more than others. So, every time I get exposed to high levels of airborne pollutants, I become vulnerable to the infection.

That’s until I tried acupuncture therapy. Of course, the Chinese treatment didn’t cure my vulnerability to bronchitis, but it reduced the risk of infection and relieved the symptoms. Now, even if I do get the infection, the experience is a lot more bearable.

For those who wonder, can massage help bronchitis, you’re in for a treat!

I am extremely satisfied with my regular treatment, so I decided to share my experience with you. I compiled all the available research on acupuncture for managing this particular health issue. So, let’s get right to it.

My Experience With Acupuncture

You see, it’s normal to rely on typical medicine to treat the illness. But, if you want to speed up the whole process, you should try acupuncture. Acupuncture for bronchitis is a practical strategy.

Bronchitis was a real problem for me. I often got sick, which made it extremely difficult for me to go to school. At the time, I only relied on medicine to get it under control. But, after a friend suggested I also try acupuncture, I decided to give it a go. I haven’t looked back ever since.

The truth is, I’ve had plenty of acupuncture therapies over the years. More than I can count. That’s why a lot of people have asked me to share my experience. I wasn’t really sure at first how I would explain the whole thing.

In a nutshell, it’s just a nap with a few needles pinched under the skin.

But, to help all the curious lads and lasses out there, I decided to delve a little deeper.

I was super nervous the first time around. I booked an appointment at a local clinic a couple of years ago. The therapist was very kind and explained the whole procedure. This helped calm my nerves a little.

He went through my medical history, and we talked about all the health issues I’m facing. He checked my pulse, gums, etc. Then, it was time for the real treatment!

But, to be honest, I still felt that anxiousness creeping in. I’m not a fan of needles, so it’s entirely normal for me to be a little on edge.

I was asked to lay on the table. Next to me, there was some incense burning to calm the nerves. Then, he used the needles and left them on the skin for a couple of minutes before removing them.

Did It Hurt?

Not really. It surprised me too, to be honest. When I tried the treatment for the first time, it felt completely different from what I thought it would be. It feels like a pinching sensation, rather than radiating pain. Kind of like a “zing” – if you know what I mean.

The Effect Of Acupuncture For Bronchitis

Respiratory illnesses and lung diseases obstruct airway pathways. That’s why we have trouble breathing, cough with phlegm, and experience frequent chest infection. To treat the problem, we would need to remove that blockage for the air to flow.

Conventional medical therapy gives us that relief. It stabilizes the body, helps with chest tightness, wheezing, and coughs until it slowly reduces the symptoms over time. If you don’t get treatment, the illness can destroy your lung tissues and possibly even cause irreversible damage.

Traditional Chinese medicine can accelerate the recovery process. It has been used for thousands of years. Ancient practitioners even used acupuncture to manage all sorts of health complications, including lung diseases. The effect of acupuncture lies in its ability to relieve bronchitis symptoms.

It can reduce the inflammation, restore airflow, and remove the blockages. But, most importantly, it can boost the immune system and help the body reduce its risk of infections.

How Does It Work?

Respiratory illnesses will take a toll on your body. They will also put a lot of pressure on the organs, which will make it difficult for them to function.

For the system to get back on track, you will need to supply the cells with oxygen, and the lungs are incapable of transporting that oxygen properly when they are infected.

Acupuncture will promote blood flow and relieve lung issues. With a healthy blood flow, the system can once again dilate the airways and boost the immune system. These are all handy strategies for improving breathing and relaxing the muscles.

What Does Research Have to Say?

According to the Healthcare Medicine Institute, acupuncture can be an effective strategy for managing chronic bronchitis. Since the treatment can boost immunoglobulin production, it can stabilize the overall health and soothe the bronchitis symptoms in elderly patients.

The ancient Chinese therapy has also proved useful in improving the immune system. Therefore, it can counteract all the antigens (like toxins and viruses). This could come in handy when trying to avoid further infections.

The Pacific College of Health and Science also supported the same results. Based on their research, it seems that acupuncture can have a unique approach to managing this health issue. By promoting the flow of Qi, the technique can restore balance in the body.

The metal needles first get rid of the blockages. Then treat all bronchial-related symptoms, including phlegm, chills, cold, cough, and headaches.

How Do Ear Seeds Help With Bronchitis?

Another thing I wanted to point out is ear seeds. You probably heard a thing or two about the small pressure points located on the outside of the ear. A lot of therapists recommend using ear seeds at home between sessions.

If you want to try the ear seeds massaging technique, check out the Multi-Condition Ear Seeds Acupuncture Kit. With a product such as this, you will get the hang of it in no-time.

Here is the ear seed placement chart for bronchitis:

The thing is, ear seeds too can help with bronchitis. The pressure techniques used in this massage are another part of traditional Chinese medicine. They are directly connected to the meridian pathways. By massaging them, you get to restore the healthy flow of Qi and remove blockages.

As you already know, the Qi can help with bronchitis symptoms. But it can also manage pain, anxiety, stress, and other health problems.

Acupuncture can do more than you realize. It has so much potential that makes it worth a try. From all the available research and my personal experience, I think you should give it a go, especially if you are going through what I did.
